Curriculum Overview

Moving Beyond the Page is a comprehensive curriculum. It is consistent with state and national standards for education so you can have peace of mind knowing that your child is learning what she needs. Extensive use of literature ensures that your child understands and internalizes big ideas. The following subject areas are thoroughly covered - giving your child a solid educational foundation:

Math is included in the Age 5-7 and Age 6-8 levels. Beginning in Age 7-9, it is no longer included in the MBTP curriculum.

Each year your child will explore four concepts that each contain approximately 9 weeks of instruction. Within each concept, he will work through three units of study. Each unit will contain 2-3 weeks of daily lessons. Every unit ends with a final project where your child will be asked to synthesize the knowledge and skills he has gained in the unit.
