Hi Leanne.
Thanks for reaching out to us with your question. If you think that your older child would be fine with the reading and writing level of the 8-10 level, then I would encourage you to move forward with it. This is one of the reasons we use age level ranges instead of grades. It is important to target a curriculum at the level of challenge your child is ready for.
Many of our recent sales to Australia have included our /Online curriculum since it saves so much on shipping (30% international shipping surcharge to Australia). Because of this, I will give you a breakdown of what you will need for your two children for both the /Online package as well as the traditional hard copy package.
/Online
Our /Online curriculum has a family friendly copyright that enables you to print student activity pages for both of your children as you go through the literature units. If you choose the Age 8-10 Full Year /Online Package, you will only need to add the Age 8-10 Language Arts Readers. This will provide each of your children with their own copy of the novels and books so they can read them at the same time.
Hard Copy
If you choose the Age 8-10 Full Year Package (hard copy), you will also need the following:
- Age 8-10 Language Arts Readers
- Additional Set of Student Activity Pages for each of the literature units (available by selecting the "Purchase Individual Items" link)
I hope this helps to answer your question. If you have additional questions or comments, please let me know.
- Keith
