What Parents Are Saying About Moving Beyond the Page

Thank you so much for developing this curriculum! My daughter (who is very much a global thinker) used to say that if she could have one wish it would be to love school. I have tried just about everything in the past five years to find a way to interest her in school work, but nothing worked. She usually had a good attitude and was willing to try, but nothing grabbed her. Now,after a month and a half of Moving Beyond the Page, she says she loves school! She even likes the parts she used to hate. This program understands global thinkers much better than the other curricula I have tried, and it gives her a chance to use her unique gifts.

We have started using the Interdependence package and we are having a great time at it. My 10 year old daughter asks to do it just about every day, and I love how organized and easy to get into. We're not traditional homeschoolers, and tend to be very in-the-moment, but we have already pulled the books off the shelf several times when we're ready for "projects"! Also, it is so easy to use between different ages: my 10 year old and 5 year old want to be a part of each other's projects, and each one will get right into what we're doing. I don't have to do anything separate, as they both enjoy both curricullum!

My daughter and I have enjoyed Moving Beyond the Page so much. I just knew in my heart there was a better way to teach her. She is smart and bright. The thought of having her sit in a classroom all day was killing me. She hates to do worksheets. This couldn't be more perfect.

Thank you for having such an amazing curriculum! It is the first one we have found that we truly love. This is a big complement coming from a former teacher who used exclusively constructivist and hands-on techniques!

I really appreciate the multifaceted projects that get the kids writing, creating, and thinking without much effort on my part! The project ideas are fresh and are natural extensions of the focus area, etc. Anyways...just wanted to say great job and I wish I had known about this program two years ago!

I love this program for many reasons. My top reason is that it keeps my children engaged, and they love to learn about the topics of discussion. THe projects are fun and not expensive on my part, yet they help to solidify the topic of study in a hands on way. FOr multiple students I was able to incorporate the 2 years because the concepts run consecutively, getting harder as the age progresses. I had to do a bit of creative rearranging, but it was feasible. Also it is a no-brainer for me which I need with 4 children being schooled. I don't have the time it takes to put together a creative and fully comprehensive curriculum. The format of the lesson plans allows me to pull out the book on sunday and prepare for the week in about 30 min. That right there was enough to sell me. I tried one year with no curriculum and put everything together on my own, but i was always wondering if i had missed something they needed, or I was lacking in creativity, or not enough work. THis program simplified it so that everything they learned was broken down for me so I could just show my husband this is what they learned-so easy! THere are so many ways to use this curriculum, you never have to feel boxed in.

This has been our first year of school at home, and Kim's curriculum has made it seem way too easy and fun! I highly recommend this as a full curriculum!

I love the curriculum's content and organization. Kim does excellent work so that I can do what I enjoy about schooling at home: spending time with my children sharing the joy of learning.

we used the 6-8 ages curriculum exclusively when my son was in first grade. we completed the entire course for that year (even with delving in deeper here and there). for second grade this year, we've tried some new curriculums (not working) and are supplementing with some of the MBTP 7-9. when i was preparing for the start of second grade, i reviewed the standards for our school district for second grade. based on what we did for the 6-8 curriculum, we had already covered ALL of what the second graders in our district would be covering. completely ahead of the game!!!

I have been using this program for two years ever since my daughter was in kindergarten. We will be starting the 7-9 program in the fall. I absolutely love it. Everything is laid out so that you can complete the lessons in the time shown. We have had illnesses and field trips and a few days when we didn't get to school for whatever reason and we were still able to complete everything in 36 weeks. My daughter is definitely a gifted, hands-on learner and speaking as a gifted student myself, it's a great program. There is little to no prep time each day. I can just open the lesson and go.
